Micro PDF-417 barcode is type of 2D Barcode symbology. It is derived from PDF-417 stacked linear barcode font. As PDF-417 is two dimensional barcode  symbology so the ratio of X to Y is range from 1:2 to 1:5. But most common ratio is 1:3 

Readability:

Text- 250 characters for all uppercase, lowercase, number, punctuation and other types of characters

Binary: 150 character

Numeric: 366 digits (it is for only when data is numeric)

Step-1:

Download and install DRPU Barcode Label Maker Software and open this application on your pc. This program provides you two modes Barcode Setting and Designing View, both are used to create labels. select one and design barcode labels. Set card properties shape and size.

Step-2:

Double click on barcode and you will get option to select barcode fonts. first select 2D barcode font, and now choose PDF-417 font. And enter barcode value and header-footer value.

Step-3:

Connect printer with your computer system. Click on print option and change printing setting according to your requirement. 

Step4:

Again press print button and your barcode labels with PDF-417 fonts are printing. And ready to use.

EAN is European Article Numbering code invented in North America. It is linear or 1D code which is used for product of retail industry. It includes 13 or 8 digit number. It includes extra digit on start of every UPC number. The expended number is unique values indicating country in which company sells products. EAN is super set of 12 digits UPC code and 10 numeric digits characters.  There are two most common EAN-13 and EAN-8 barcode fonts. 

An EAN-13 is one of linear barcode fonts, in past it is known as European Article Number but at present it is changed with International Article Number. There are two main types of EAN Barcode fonts which are EAN-13, EAN-8.

EAN-13:

EAN-13 is linear barcode includes total 13 digits, 12 data and 1 in check digit.    EAN-13 Barcode are grouped which are as follows:

Left group: Digits 2-7 the left group, encodes digit 1, through a scheme of old and even party

Right group: digits- 8-13, 13 digit is check digit.

This barcode font is used for marketing products which are sold at point of sale.  The other type of EAN barcode is EAN-8 which is also commonly used in retail sectors, but they are reserved only for smaller items.

Step-1:

When you select designing view you will have card and many drawing tools. On left hand side you will get option to resize and change of barcode card. Now click on barcode from drawing tool.

Step-2:

Now double click on barcode you will get options. First select linear font then choose EAN-13 barcode font from drop down list. Then enter barcode value, header- footer value. Now click on ok button.

Step-3:

Now your EAN-13 Barcode label is ready for printing. Click on print button and change printing setting.

Step-4:

Now EAN-13 Barcode labels are printing.
